The Knee Joint
The knee is one of the most important joints in the body. It is a hinge joint, which means that it bends back and forth like a hinge. The kneecap (patella) is located between the femur and tibia to help them move smoothly over each other.
The knee connects the lower leg to the thigh and provides stability for walking, running and jumping. A knee injury makes it very difficult or impossible to have normal functional movement and can significantly disrupt your life
The knee is known as a “dumb” joint, because it does what the joints above and below it (hips and feet/ankles) tell it to do. Can You Rest Too Much?
